Matthew 22

And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

యేసు వారికి జవాబిస్తూ మళ్ళీ ఉదాహరణలతో ఇలా మాట్లాడసాగాడు,

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

“పరలోకరాజ్యం ఒక రాజు తన కుమారునికి పెళ్ళి విందు ఏర్పాటు చేసినట్టు ఉంది.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

ఆ విందుకు ఆహ్వానించిన వారిని పిలవడానికి అతడు తన సేవకులను పంపించాడు. అయితే వారెవ్వరూ రాలేదు.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

అప్పుడు ఆ రాజు, ‘ఇదిగో, నా విందు సిద్ధంగా ఉంది. ఎద్దులను, కొవ్విన పశువులను వధించి అంతా సిద్ధం చేశాను. పెళ్ళి విందుకు రండి’ అని ఆహ్వానితులను మళ్ళీ పిలవడానికి మరి కొందరు సేవకులను వారి దగ్గరికి పంపించాడు.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

కానీ వారు లెక్క చేయకుండా, ఒకడు తన పొలానికి, మరొకడు తన వ్యాపారానికి వెళ్ళారు.

And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

మిగిలినవారు అతని దాసులను పట్టుకొకుని అవమానపరిచి చంపారు.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

కాబట్టి రాజు కోపపడి తన సైన్యాన్ని పంపి, ఆ దుర్మార్గులను సంహరించి, వారి పట్టణాన్ని తగలబెట్టించాడు.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

అప్పుడతడు, ‘పెళ్ళి విందు సిద్ధంగా ఉంది గానీ నేను పిలిచిన వారు యోగ్యులు కారు.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

కాబట్టి మీరు రహదారుల్లోకి వెళ్ళి మీకు కనబడిన వారందరినీ పెళ్ళి విందుకు ఆహ్వానించండి’ అని తన దాసులతో చెప్పాడు.

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

ఆ సేవకులు రహదారుల్లోకి వెళ్ళి చెడ్డవారిని, మంచివారిని తమకు కనబడిన వారినందరినీ పోగు చేశారు. కాబట్టి ఆ ఇల్లంతా పెళ్ళి విందుకు వచ్చిన వారితో నిండిపోయింది.

And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

రాజు అతనితో, ‘మిత్రమా, పెళ్ళి బట్టలు లేకుండా నీవు లోపలికి ఎలా వచ్చావు?’ అని అడిగాడు. కానీ అతడు మౌనంగా ఉండిపోయాడు.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

కాబట్టి రాజు, ‘ఇతని కాళ్ళు, చేతులు కట్టి బయటి చీకటిలోకి తోసివేయండి. అక్కడ ఏడుపు, పండ్లు కొరుక్కోవడం ఉంటాయి’ అని తన పరిచారకులతో చెప్పాడు.

For many are called, but few are chosen.

ఆహ్వానం అందుకున్నవారు చాలామంది ఉన్నారు గానీ ఎన్నికైన వారు కొద్దిమందే.”

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

వారు తమ అనుచరులను కొందరు హేరోదు మనుషులతో పాటు ఆయన దగ్గరికి పంపించారు. వారు ఆయనతో, “బోధకా, నీవు యథార్ధవంతుడివనీ, దేవుని మార్గం ఉన్నది ఉన్నట్టు బోధించేవాడివనీ, ఎవరినీ లెక్క చేయవనీ, ఎలాటి పక్షపాతం చూపవనీ మాకు తెలుసు.

Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

సీజరు చక్రవర్తికి పన్ను కట్టడం న్యాయమా? కాదా? ఈ విషయంలో నీ అభిప్రాయం మాతో చెప్పు” అని అడిగారు.

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

యేసు వెంటనే వారి దుష్ట తలంపులు కనిపెట్టి, “కపటులారా, నన్నెందుకు పరిశోధిస్తున్నారు?

Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

ఏదీ, సుంకం నాణెం ఒకటి నాకు చూపించండి” అన్నాడు. వారు ఆయన దగ్గరికి ఒక దేనారం తీసుకొచ్చారు.

And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

ఆయన, “దీనిపై ఉన్న బొమ్మ, అక్షరాలు ఎవరివి?” అని వారినడిగాడు. వారు, “అవి సీజరు చక్రవర్తివి” అన్నారు.

They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

ఆయన వెంటనే, “అలాగైతే సీజరువి సీజరుకూ, దేవునివి దేవునికీ చెల్లించండి” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.

When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

వారీమాట విని ఆశ్చర్యపడి ఆయనను విడిచి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.

Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

“బోధకా, ‘ఒక వ్యక్తి పిల్లలు లేకుండా చనిపోతే అతని సోదరుడు అతని భార్యను పెళ్ళి చేసికుని తన సోదరునికి సంతానం కలిగించాలి’ అని మోషే చెప్పాడు గదా.

Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

మాలో ఏడుగురు అన్నదమ్ములు ఉండేవారు. మొదటివాడు పెళ్ళి చేసుకుని సంతానం లేకుండానే చనిపోయాడు. అతని తమ్ముడు అతని భార్యను చేసుకున్నాడు.

Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

ఈ రెండోవాడు, మూడోవాడు, తరువాత ఏడోవాడి వరకూ అందరూ ఆ విధంగానే చేసి చనిపోయారు.

And last of all the woman died also.

వారందరి తరువాత ఆ స్త్రీ కూడా చనిపోయింది.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

చనిపోయిన వారు తిరిగి లేచినప్పుడు ఆ ఏడుగురిలో ఆమె ఎవరికి భార్య అవుతుంది? ఇక్కడ ఆమె వారందరికీ భార్యగా ఉంది కదా?” అని అడిగారు.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

అందుకు యేసు, “మీకు లేఖనాలూ, దేవుని శక్తీ తెలియదు కాబట్టి మీరు పొరబడుతున్నారు.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

పునరుత్థానం జరిగిన తరువాత ఎవరూ పెళ్ళి చేసుకోరు, పెళ్ళికియ్యరు. వారు పరలోకంలోని దేవదూతల్లాగా ఉంటారు.

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

ఈ అనువాదపు పాఠంలో ఈ వచనం లేదు.

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

ఈ అనువాదపు పాఠంలో ఈ వచనం లేదు.

And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

ఈ మాటలు విన్న జన సమూహం ఆయన బోధకు ఆశ్చర్యచకితులయ్యారు.

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

వారిలో ధర్మశాస్త్రం బాగా ఎరిగిన ఒకడు ఆయనను పరీక్షించడానికి,

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

“బోధకా, ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో అత్యంత ప్రాముఖ్యమైన ఆజ్ఞ ఏది?” అని అడిగాడు.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

అందుకు యేసు, “‘నీ పూర్ణహృదయంతో, పూర్ణాత్మతో, పూర్ణమనస్సుతో నీ దేవుడైన ప్రభువును ప్రేమించాలి’ అనేదే.

This is the first and great commandment.

ఇది ముఖ్యమైనదీ, మొదటిదీ.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

‘మిమ్మల్ని మీరు ఎంతగా ప్రేమించుకుంటారో అంతగా మీ పొరుగువాణ్ణి ప్రేమించాలి’ అనే రెండవ ఆజ్ఞ కూడా దానిలాంటిదే.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

ఈ రెండు ఆజ్ఞలూ ధర్మశాస్త్రమంతటికీ, ప్రవక్తల రాతలకూ మూలాధారం” అని అతనితో చెప్పాడు.

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

“క్రీస్తు విషయంలో మీ అభిప్రాయమేమిటి? ఆయన ఎవరి కుమారుడు?” అని ప్రశ్నించాడు. వారు, “ఆయన దావీదు కుమారుడు” అని చెప్పారు.

He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

అందుకు యేసు, “అయితే, ‘నేను నీ శత్రువులను నీ పాదాల కింద ఉంచేవరకూ

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

నీవు నా కుడి పక్కన కూర్చో అని ప్రభువు నా ప్రభువుతో పలికాడు’ అని దావీదు ఆయనను ఆత్మమూలంగా ప్రభువని ఎందుకు చెబుతున్నాడు?

If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

దావీదు ఆయనను ప్రభువు అని పిలుస్తుండగా ఆయన అతనికి ఏ విధంగా కుమారుడవుతాడు?” అని వారిని అడిగాడు.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

ఆయన ప్రశ్నకి ఎవ్వరూ జవాబు చెప్పలేకపోయారు. అంతే కాదు, ఆ రోజు నుండి ఆయనను ఒక ప్రశ్న అడగడానికి కూడా ఎవ్వరికీ ధైర్యం చాలలేదు.
